  37. rpm is available in source form.  I believe it compiles on NetBSD for one.
  38. You know what's in the rpm because there's an option to rpm to tell you.
  39. Even better, it has a description, and a pgp signature from the author.
  40. But all this is missing your fundamentally wrong assumption which is that
  41. a distribution is prepared in order for you to be able to pick it apart
  42. and use it on an alien system.
